Catalyst Investors has assembled an experienced group of Operating Partners to act as valuable resources to Catalyst’s portfolio companies. Consisting of successful entrepreneurs and executives, the Operating Partners help Catalyst throughout the entire investment process by identifying investment opportunities, assisting in the due diligence process and supporting the growth of Catalyst’s portfolio companies. Our Operating Partners support our portfolio companies in a variety of ways – including but not limited to serving on a board of directors, sourcing executives to supplement management teams, providing strategy counsel, and arranging senior-level customer or M&A introductions.

John Alchin
Former EVP and Co-CFO
Comcast Corporation
Mr. Alchin served as Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Financial Officer of Comcast Corporation from 1990 through year end 2007. Mr. Alchin managed Comcast’s capital formation activities, including equity and debt placements in domestic and international markets. He was also responsible for investor relations and treasury cash management functions.
Before joining Comcast Mr. Alchin was a Managing Director of Toronto Dominion Bank. He was active in founding the bank’s U.S. Communications Finance Group in 1980, which rapidly became the largest lender to the cable television industry.
In 2007, 2006 and 2004 Mr. Alchin was named among America’s Best CFOs by Institutional Investor magazine. In 2005 he was recognized as CFO to Watch by Treasury and Risk Management magazine, and in 2004 he received the CFO of the Year award from the Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association.
Mr. Alchin earned his B.A. and his M.B.A. degrees from the University of Toronto. He serves as a member of the board of directors of Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation and BNY Mellon Trust Funds. Additionally, he serves on the board of trustees of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and as Vice Chairman of their Corporate Executive Board. He also serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Southeastern PA, and is an Advisory Board Member of MANNA (Metropolitan AIDS Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance).
